본 설계안은 부산 해운대 그랜드 호텔 부지에 호텔과 생활형 숙박시설 및 상업시설의 복합건물로써 초고층(71층) 생활 숙박시설 프로젝트이다. 해당 대지는 해운대 비치가 전면으로 펼쳐져 있어 바다조망을 극대화하였다. 또한 해운대 관광의 구심점 역할에 부합하도록 해운대 앞 바닷물의 근원 즉, ‘GREAT WATER FALL’이라는 독창적이고 아름다운 디자인 개념으로 상징성을 부여하여 지역의 랜드마크가 되도록 하였다. 모든 객실은 바다 조망이 가능하며 저층부 호텔 객실은 테라스 타입으로 계획하였다. 특히, 스카이브리지(66층의 커뮤니티와 스카이 풀)에 부대시설을 계획함으로써 건축적 아이덴티티와 어메니티를 부여하였다. 1,2층의 판매시설은 ‘EDGE TO EDGE’ 개념을 적용하여 유동인구를 시설 내로의 자연스러운 유입으로 상가 활성화를 확보하였다.
This design is a high-rise (71 stories) living accommodation project as a complex of hotels, living accommodation and commercial facilities on the site of Haeundae Grand Hotel in Busan. The site has Haeundae Beach spread out to the front, maximizing the sea view. In addition, the origin of the seawater in front of Haeundae, or “GREAT WATER FALL,” was given symbolism to become a landmark of the region in line with the role of the center of Haeundae tourism. All rooms have a sea view and the low-floor hotel rooms are planned in terrace type. In particular, the Skybridge (66th floor community and Skypool) was given architectural identity and amenity by planning auxiliary facilities. Sales facilities on the first and second floors applied the concept of ‘EDGE TO EDGE’ to secure the revitalization of shopping malls by the natural inflow of floating population into the facility.
